McPolin Barn Retrofit

Hogan built a new structural system for seismic resistance and gravity, snow, and wind loads while maintaining McPolin's historic integrity and appeal.

Project Manager

Before the restoration, the barn could only be viewed from the outside. It’s rewarding to know that our work will help the barn serve the city for many more years as a functioning, beautiful space.

Project Success

The windows needed to be custom built because of their unique shape, so Hogan's woodworkers constructed and installed the 60 windows.

Complete retrofit to the iconic 1921 building!

Hogan’s crews removed roof portions piece-by-piece to build the interior steel frame, added new shingles to the roof, upgraded the exterior siding, and excavated and shored around the barn’s exterior.
